The Audio Championship is the culmination of the News and Features Audio competition held during the academic year.

These five finalists submitted the top winning reports in that competition and qualified for the Championship.

During the Championship, the audio finalists produced a report based on a spot assignment. Judges reviewed the work and selected the winners, who were announced at the awards ceremony on June 14.

THE ASSIGNMENT:

The audio finalists were asked to make a 2-5 minute audio report about “The County Opening up.”

After 14 months of the devastating toll of Covid-19, restrictions on our daily lives and economic hardship for many, the country is opening up. What does that look like? What does it mean?

The broadcast judges Candy Altman, Holly Quan and Joe Rovitto chose the assignment, reviewed the audio entries and selected the winners.
