The Photojournalism Championship is the culmination of the two monthly photo competitions held during the academic year and a semifinal round for top scorers of those monthly competitions.

These six finalists submitted the top winning images from 211 entries received in the News & Features and Picture Story/Series competitions.

During the Championship, the photo finalists completed a portfolio of images based on a spot assignment. Judges reviewed the work and selected the winners, who were announced at the awards ceremony on June 14.
