Monthly Competition Winners

The 2020–2021 Hearst Journalism Awards program consisted of 14 competitions in college-level writing, photojournalism, audio, television and multimedia. The top five finalists in each competition earned scholarship awards, with matching grants going to their schools for a total of $238,000.

Each participating university also earned a $250 stipend per competition entered. The top finalists from these monthly competitions and their winning submissions are featured here. Top winners in each division qualified to participate in the 2021 National Championships.
